The Motorcycle Diaries

Our hosts are kind enough to drive us around on motorbikes to get to further destinations that would be difficult to reach by foot. These rides are always fun for me! Especially at night... I love riding in the coolness of the evening after sweltering hot days in the sun.

This is us heading to the night market.

The market is only open on Sunday nights. It's a huge flea market/ swap meet kind of thing. Ana and I scored some really cute bracelets for less than $1, and I bought my cousin little elephant statues per her request. We also saw these for sale. Tasty!

Today, Party + Bel escorted us to visit a couple of local temples in Nong Khai. They were gorgeous. I loved seeing the intricacies of design on every last inch of sacred space. We would pause to kneel in front of the Buddha statues and I could actually feel the reverence in those paying their respects around me.

We walked through this area called "The Circle of Life." It documents the life cycle of these two in their relationship from childhood to death.

The last picture is kind of morbid but also sweet =)
