So full of youth

Check out these cuties!

The two handsome little boys are named Toto (with glasses) and Feem (I'm not sure how to spell his name... I've been calling him Fing. Whoops!)

These are some of the teens in the more advanced class. They're sneaking off to get some food before class begins.

I feel like today was the first day we had a real, exciting, teaching breakthrough moment of connection and understanding. We've been drilling the little ones with colors and shapes for almost two weeks. We even made Color Bingo cards by hand and played a couple of times a week to reinforce their learning. It also helps that they like to win candy from playing Bingo... Most of them know the colors now!

This little girl, Muy, is as quiet and shy as she looks in the photo. Bell has been working with her extra on learning her colors while most of the other kids were moving on to learning shapes. Today, she was able to name all of the colors in front of the class with no assistance! Toto (cutie with the glasses) was also able to do the same, which he's never been able to do before! I almost wanted to cry.

Ana and I are off to Laos tomorrow to get our visas so we can stay in Thailand longer. And also so we can explore a new country. This is all I'm bringing:

Kirk and Ming gave us an info session today that included diagrams on the white board, key locations where we have to fill out forms and pay, what to say to pestering tuk-tuk drivers, locations where we can avoid pestering tuk-tuk drivers, conversion rates, etc. Places we plan on visiting: Vientiene, Vang Vieng, and Luang Prabang. We'll be back in a week!
